Q. Can I use oils when Ear Candling?
A. You should never put anything in your ear without your doctor’s approval. We do not recommend using oils before Ear Candling because oil and fire do not mix well! However, if you would like to use oils after Ear Candling, massage the oils only in the outer opening of your ear canal. Do not drop oils into your ear.
Q. What is the residue inside the Ear Candle?
A. Without lab work or seeing the actual Ear Candle, it is hard to tell. Generally, there is NEVER yeast, mucous, fungus, or bacteria in the Ear Candle. You will often hear ear candle companies tell you that the powder in your Ear Candle is yeast, etc. Ask them for their lab work. Can they prove it? The powder is a chemical reaction between the cloth and wax. This occurs in every single ear candle and is dependent upon the health of the end user.
Remember: the residue in the Ear Candle is not important; it is how you feel. Do you feel more balanced? Do you feel more open and clear? Have the symptoms dissipated or improved?
